Visiting Ottawa & Central Ontario
As winter begins to give way to spring’s rejuvenation in Ottawa and central Ontario, plan your visit and experience all the best this province has to offer – from Ottawa and Smiths Falls out to Pembroke or Cornwall. Central Ontario can yield full days of exploration and fun thanks to premier attractions, welcoming locals, and a very impressive slate of festivals, concerts, events and more.
Your early-2017 visit to Ottawa should include a tour through one of the province’s most exceptional annual celebrations. Visit the Rideau Canal Skateway from February 3rd to 20th and have a blast at Winterlude. Be sure to experience some of Winterlude 2017’s highlights, like the 37th Annual Accora Village Bed Race, and Snowflake Kingdom, ideal for the kids.
TD Place in Ottawa should be your main destination between January 16th and 22nd. You’ll have a chance to see the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships live and in person. See the top women, men, and pairs compete across senior, junior, and novice skill levels.
Fans of live theatre will be in for a real treat when they visit Ottawa in early 2017. Head for the Great Canadian Theatre Company from January 12th to 29th and catch a live performance of Trudeau Stories.
The Ottawa Little Theatre will be hosting live performances of the iconic Pulitzer Prize-winning novel-turned-play To Kill a Mockingbird. Check out a performance of this 1960 classic from February 15th to March 4th – shows begin at 7:30 p.m.
Visit the Canadian Tire Centre in early 2017 to watch the hometown Ottawa Senators battle fierce NHL competition. Treat your significant other to an exciting evening of live hockey on February 14th when the Senators take on the Buffalo Sabres at 7:30 p.m. Other marquee matchups include the Boston Bruins on March 6th, and the Tampa Bay Lightning on March 14th.
