Sudbury Dragon Boat Festival

A celebration of the world's fastest growing water sport, the Sudbury Dragon Boat Festival takes place at Bell Park in Sudbury, Ontario, near the intersection of Paris Street and York Street in the northern Ontario region. Participants race across Hermit's bay in narrow, 41-foot wooden boats propelled by 20 paddlers along with a drummer and a steer person

Between viewing races from different vantage points along the Bell Park Boardwalk, visitors enjoy live entertainment, a variety of food options and vendors lining the park. Keeping the fun alive each year, sponsors of the event include TD Bank, Investors Group, Dalron and Integrated Construction Services.

Sudbury Theatre Centre

Since 1972, local residents and visitors of Sudbury have enjoyed cultural enrichment through professional theatre productions. The Sudbury Theatre Centre began producing plays from the former Inco Club, until the early 1980s, when the plays were performed at the Fraser Auditorium. Popularity of these northern Ontario productions increased significantly, causing a need for a new facility.

Since 1981, this invaluable theatre company has been producing plays in its current home in downtown Sudbury. Whether enjoying a Theater and Dinner package through one of the local restaurants, or just a show, there are a wide variety of productions to choose from. Youth drama classes at the centre are offered for children aged 8 to 17, as well as, adult acting workshops for those 18 and older.
