Visiting Northern Ontario
As temperatures begin to drop, autumn breathes broad swaths of red over northern Ontario's vast terrain. Communities from Dryden to Thunder Bay to Huntsville work to make the most of this season's remaining warm weather, welcoming visitors with an abundance of ways to enjoy the outdoors. Community events, holiday festivals, and virtually endless possibilities for family-friendly fun – It's a great time to discover northern Ontario.
Craft beer culture is burgeoning all over North America and Sioux Lookout is no different. Savor the suds of Woods Brewing Company at the 2015 Sioux Lookout Beer Tasting on October 17th at the Sioux Lookout Community Museum. The pours start flowing at 7:30 p.m.
The holiday season starts early in Dryden, ushered in by Wabigoon's Winter Showcase 2015 on November 20th and 21st. Visitors and residents are invited to get a jump on holiday shopping as local merchants and vendors put some of their highest quality handcrafted products on display at the Wabigoon Memorial Hall. Get there early for the best pick – the market opens at 4 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.
From frights to sleigh bells, a wide range of holiday celebrations line the calendar in Thunder Bay. First, the 2015 Spooktacular brings an afternoon's worth of frightful-yet-family-friendly fun to Prince Arthur's Landing on October 25th. The Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra performs Christmas classics at the 2015 Holiday Pops concert at Thunder Bay Community Auditorium on December 12th.
